    This 6-hour Business Class is designed for middle and high school students. The lesson introduces them to business and entrepreneurship using the 4 Ps of Marketing (product, price, place and promotion), along with a 5th P of Pitch, in an engaging, hands-on way. Students will brainstorm business ideas, create a new product, explore pricing concepts, examine sourcing and distribution options, and analyze branding, advertising and promotions. The class features Play-Doh prototypes, Price is Right game simulation, Super-Bowl commercial analysis and Shark Tank pitch review and a certificate of completion.

  • Babysitting Basics

    This 6-hour interactive course is designed to teach 6th - 9th grade students the essential skills and knowledge needed to become confident, responsible babysitters. Through hands-on activities, role-playing, and group discussions, students will learn how to care for children of different ages, handle common challenges, and keep kids safe and happy. Topics include introduction to babysitting, safety first, ages and stages, fun & games, food & bedtime, and the business of babysitting. Class includes a take-home babysitting guide, certificate of completion, and practical tips to start babysitting safely and successfully.

    This interactive 6-hour workshop equips high school students with the essential skills needed to find, apply for, and succeed in their first job. Through hands-on activities, real-life scenarios, and practical tools, students will gain confidence in navigating the world of work and presenting themselves professionally. Students will learn: about themselves and how to match a job with their interests, how to build a resume, and how to prepare for and succeed in job interviews and the workplace. The class features mock interviews, resume writing practice, real-word scenarios and a certificate of completion.

We hereby affirm that we are aware of the inherent risks and hazards of the summer programs offered at Lutheran North and by signing this release, certify that we are cognizant of those risks. We understand and agree that neither the Lutheran High School Association nor any of its employees and agents may be held liable in any way for any occurrence, including rescue operations, in connection with the course/camp which may result in injury, death or other damages to me or my family, heirs, or assigns, and in consideration of being allowed to participate in this camp, we hereby personally assume all risks in connection with said camp and activities related thereto for any harm, injury or damage which may befall me and further to save and hold harmless the program, Lutheran High School Association, and all persons associated therewith from any claim by us, or our families, estates, heirs, or assigns arising out of enrollment and participation in this course.

This is signed by the camp participant and his or her legal guardian and parents with their consent. We understand that the terms herein are contractual and not a mere recital, and that this has been signed freely and voluntarily. It is the intent of the signers hereto to exempt and release the Lutheran High School Association and all of its agents from derivative damage caused by anyone’s act, error, omission or negligence.

We believe that using student photos in our print and web publications helps foster a greater sense of community. Photography and video recordings from our events help the Lutheran High School Association to display the enthusiasm of our community. We use photos to enhance the quality of our print materials, newsletters, websites, social media, publicity, and fundraising. We also use photos to further our efforts in education, support, and outreach. As a participant in LHSA events, you have a right to opt out of inclusion in photographs/media, but unless a “Photography Opt-Out Form” is signed and on file at the school office with a reference image of the person opting out, participation in school activities implies permission for the use of images taken at those events. I hereby grant the LHSA, and/or their legal representative, permission to use photos and videos of my student(s) in school publications, yearbooks, websites, and media. I waive any right I may have to approve the finished product. I hereby release the LHSA, their representative, or those for whom they are acting, from any liability for any violation of any personal proprietary right I may have in connection with the use of the above-stated images.
